As we continue to grow and expand our impact, we’re thrilled to welcome a group of incredible new team members who will help guide us into our next chapter of excellence.

Elwood (Woody) Hungarter – CEO

We are honored to welcome Elwood (Woody) Hungarter as our new Chief Executive Officer. Woody is a Registered Nurse and End-of-Life Doula with more than 40 years of clinical and leadership experience in hospice and healthcare. His vision and wisdom will help guide C4TH into a new era of growth, ensuring that we continue to deliver dignified, loving end-of-life care rooted in compassion and excellence.


Sydnie Chatman – Director of Strategic & Operational Partnerships

Joining us as Director of Strategic & Operational Partnerships, Sydnie Chatman brings a wealth of expertise in philanthropy, strategy, and board leadership. Sydnie’s innovative and collaborative approach will advance our strategic initiatives and strengthen partnerships that expand our reach and impact — all while ensuring operational excellence across every department.


Maha Majdoubi – External Communications Specialist & Community Engagement Intern

We’re delighted to introduce Maha Majdoubi, a rising senior at Rutgers University, as our new External Communications Specialist & Community Engagement Intern. Maha brings creativity, mission-driven outreach, and an inclusive storytelling approach to our communications work. Her efforts will help us share our message of heart-centered care and engage more deeply with our community.


Nicole MacKinnon – Marketing & Community Engagement Intern

We also welcome Nicole MacKinnon, a student leader at Elon University, who joins our team as a Marketing & Community Engagement Intern. With a strong background in project management and digital campaigns, Nicole will play a key role in amplifying our visibility, streamlining execution, and ensuring our message of love, dignity, and support reaches even more people.


Each of these new team members brings a unique blend of passion, expertise, and heart that perfectly aligns with our mission. Together, they will help Center for the Heart continue building programs, partnerships, and experiences that uplift individuals and families through compassionate care and community connection.
