Fully-Funded End-of-Life & Grief Support
Compassionate grief, caregiving, and end-of-life support should not be limited to those who can afford to pay privately.
Center for the Heart offers a growing number of fully-funded and sponsored access pathways for individuals, families, and organizations supporting those navigating serious illness, caregiving, grief, loss, and end-of-life preparation.
Some programs are always free and open to the public. Others are available through donor, grant, or sponsor-supported funding when resources are available.
If cost is a barrier, we invite you to learn more and apply.
How Fully-Funded Access Works
Fully-funded support is made possible through donations, grants, sponsorships, and community support.
Eligibility is reviewed based on need, fit for the program, current funding availability, and our ability to provide the right support at the right time.
To help us evaluate financial need in a consistent and respectful way, we use the ALICE framework.
ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. In simpler terms, it helps identify households that may be working or receiving income, but still cannot reliably cover the basic cost of living in their area. While ALICE was originally created to evaluate ability to pay of those who are employed, we also provide funded end-of-life and grief support to those that are not employed.
This tool helps us understand whether private-pay support may be out of reach and ensures we do not disqualify people simply because they may be above the federal poverty line. It ensures we responsibly prioritize limited funded support and evaluate eligibility based on consistent criteria.
Submitting an application does not guarantee fully-funded services, but it helps us understand your situation and determine what support may be available.
Regardless of our ability to provide fully-funded support, we will still reply to you with resources and possible referrals, as well as information on next steps.
To submit an application for fully-funded grief or end-of-life support, please fill out our application form and someone will be in touch with you regarding how we can help.

Not Sure Where to Start?
You do not need to know exactly which program is right for you before applying.
Tell us what you are navigating, and we will review your application with care. If a fully funded pathway is available and appropriate, we will follow up with next steps. If we are not the right fit, we will reply and share other resources and referals when possible.
Help Make Access Possible
These access pathways are made possible by donors, sponsors, and community partners who believe no one should face grief, caregiving, or the end of life alone.
If you are able to support this work, your gift helps expand access for individuals and families who might otherwise go without personalized guidance and compassionate support.
